Sunset Mesa is a very interesting part of Pacific Palisades and Malibu. Coastline Drive is right where the Getty Villa is located is where you would turn from Pacific Coast Hwy to get there.
In my opinion this area is undervalued, you are 10 minutes from Malibu, 10 minutes from Santa Monica and here you can get a 2500 sq ft home on a nice 6000 sq ft lot for approximately 2.5-3 million dollars. Compared to a condo in Santa Monica with high HOA dues every month, I think it is a steal. The homes here are usually pretty modest and many are mid century, the ones right on the cliffs of Coastline have really spectacular views of Santa Monica and Malibu.
